Internships

Business Photo

Internships are a great way for students to capture additional units while gaining valuable career experience.

You must register with CCN to use their services. Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to Las Positas College; search the Jobs Central® national job board and the Intern Central® national internship board.

  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so it can be searched by employers (if you so authorize).

  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.

  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.

  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.

  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.

  • Las Positas College is promoting specific Work-Based Learning educational opportunities such as Internships, Job Shadowing, Field Trips, Externships, and Mentoring.

  • At this time, Las Positas College is not advertising Job Placement opportunities (only Work-Based Learning educational opportunities). Las Positas College promotes the TriValley OneStop for all Job Placement opportunities. For Job Placement opportunities, please visit the TriValley OneStop's website: www.trivalleyonestop.org

INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS TO REGISTER ON THE COLLEGE CAREER NETWORK (CCN) SO THEY CAN SEARCH INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

2. Upper menu "Students"

3. In the box, click "Sign Up" to register (Required: W #, password, and some contact/background student info)

4. To search internships once you've registered, from the Student Page, on the left click "Search My School's Jobs" (even though it's just internships)

and scroll down to click the "Paid Internship" box, then the "Begin Search" button. (To narrow a search by major, etc. you can select - though I recommend searching all internships; sometimes employers in a certain industry have internships that appeal to a wider group of students)

5. All available internship postings should be viewable. Click for full details and info on how to apply.

INTN 2 INTERNSHIP FIELD PLACEMENT 1-3 UNITS

Taken in conjunction with the Internship Seminar, the field placement is supervised employment for students who work in a job that is related to their chosen course of study.
