Livermore Named Finalist in IDC's Smart Cities North America Award

Livermore's Cyber Safe initiative is dedicated to fostering a secure and inclusive cyber environment within the community. As part of this effort, the initiative provides valuable resources for promoting cyber safety, and actively participates in national events like Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Data Privacy Week, with the City Council issuing formal proclamations and social media messaging. The initiative also offers a range of Cyber Safety resources on its website, which are accessible to the general public on the City website. Additionally, the City provides residents a complimentary Right Hand Cybersecurity mobile application to help encourage adopting best cyber hygiene practices.

The City of Livermore, CA, Named Finalist in IDC Government Insights’ 6th Annual Smart Cities North America Awards


March 20, 2023 – The City of Livermore announced it has been named a finalist in IDC Government Insights’ sixth annual Smart Cities North America Awards (SCNAA) in the Economic Development, Tourism, Arts, Libraries, Culture, Open Spaces category. The awards recognize the progress North American municipalities have made in executing Smart Cities projects, as well as provide a forum for sharing best practices to help accelerate Smart City development in the region. As a next step in the nomination process, IDC invites the public to vote on the named finalists at Public Voting Survey (surveymonkey.com). Voting will be open through March 31st. Finalists in the SCNAA illustrate best practice examples of how forward-thinking municipalities are effectively leveraging technology and innovation to offer new services and economic opportunities and to meet the needs and expectations of citizens and residents. Livermore was recognized for unprecedented progress in creating and sustaining smart city projects in the Economic Development, Tourism, Arts, Libraries, Culture, Open Spaces category.
