Cinematography and special effects
The Escher-esque world we are transported into is flawless. I did not see it in 3-D, and I think If I had it would have made me nauseous.
Storyline
The story was great, the typical egotistical person that has to overcome his ego for the greater good. I am undecided if the theme is a bit played out or not. Still, the story was a good one, and a few great quotes were int the movie. But I can’t remember them; I guess I will have to watch it again. ;-)
Cast selection and performance
Benedict Cumberbatch was an excellent pick for Dr. Strange. If you look at his other roles as Khan in Star Trek and Sherlock Holmes on BBC, he does play a good egotistical genius type. Does this mean he is typecast? Who knows? As for Mads Mikkelsen, he plays a good, bad guy; I will give him that. The whole eye makeup I could do without. I look forward to seeing his role in Rouge One next month!
Overall one of the best movies of the year in my book.
