Most of the time when people choose an operating system they just get the latest version of Windows or Apple Mac OS. However, when it comes to Linux you have different distributions. In Windows terms if they had distributions you would have to ponder questions like to I get the IBM build of Windows or do I get the HP build. Or maybe I should look into Aunt Sally’s Windows build. Because Linux is open source there can be some very different builds of Linux and you need to know which one will meet your needs.
What are some things you need to consider in selecting a distribution of Linux to install for a client/customer?
