AI in Hacking

I went looking for news on mass AI attacks but was unable to really find anything. As AI develops further and further, the security implementations of it will no doubt come into play. While there does not seem to be any major incidents related to AI on the side of hackers, there has been use to increase the way known attacks are carried out. “The AI, named SNAP_R, sent simulated spear-phishing tweets to over 800 users at a rate of 6.75 tweets per minute, luring 275 victims.” While fishing can be prevented with user awareness, that becomes harder and harder to do as AI is able to gather every bit of posted information on individuals. While these seem mostly small scale, Russia says “Artificial intelligence is the future. Whoever becomes the leader in this sphere will become the ruler of the world.” No doubt they are working on weaponizing it while much of the world is signing legislation to prevent the weaponization of AI.
